Review: ener.CON Europe Award 2016

On the occasion of the 5th ener.CON Europe event, we.CONECT has bestowed the renowned ener.CON Europe award for the third time. The prize honors projects that achieved outstanding performances in energy efficiency. The award jury was formed by Dr. Malte Homann from Covestro, Athanasios Patsos from Tata Steel and Leo Pototzky from Bosch Rexroth. The prize money has been donated to the social startup Kiron.

Who won the race for the award?

e. Luterbach AG convinced the expert jury with their concept for a high efficient powder coating plant and took the 1st place. German Voith GmbH developed an energy and resource efficiency plan to save more than 6 million Euro annually – 2nd place was the well-earned reward. Continental Automotive, recent winner of the Car HMI Award 2016, completed the podium. Continental implemented an optimized infrastructure for its plant located in Regensburg to reduce the energy consumption per product by almost 50%.
